Chicken Gravy is delicious with biryani, rice, chapati, puri, and Idli. This can be done very easily with homemade ingredients. Goes well with all kinds of lunch and dinner varieties. “This is now our favourite go-to curry,” shares the home cook “Quick and easy with a great flavour. I used hot curry powder and chose to cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.”
Ingredients
- Chicken – 500g
- Cooking oil – 4 tsp
- Large onion – 1
- Tomato – 1
- Cashew nuts – 10
- Dried chillies – 4
- Garlic pods – 3
- Ginger – 1 piece
- Coriander leaves – a handful
- Salt – as needed
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Chilli powder – 2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
Recipe Method

- Add 10 cashew nuts to a pan and fry it.
- Add 4 dried chillies and fry for 20 – 30 seconds.
- Then transfer them to a mixer jar.
- Grind it coarsely.
- Add 1 tomato and grind finely.
- Add 2 tsp of cooking oil to a pan.
- When the oil is hot add 1 large onion finely chopped.
- After frying the onion, chop 3 garlic cloves and 1 piece of ginger and add little coriander leaves and fry till raw smell leaves.
- Then add the required amount of salt, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 2 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, and 1/2 teaspoon garam masala.
- Sprinkle a little water and bring it to a boil.
- Add 1/2 kg of chicken.
- Mix well to mix with chicken masala.
- Cover and simmer for a while.
- After the chicken is lightly cooked, add the ground cashew paste and mix well.
- Then add the required amount of water, cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Once the chicken is cooked well oil oozes out from the sides.
- Delicious chicken gravy is ready to serve.
