Goat Head Curry/Talakaya Kura

Goat head curry (Talakaya Kura) is one of the spiced non-vegetarian recipes a delicacy that is enjoyed by mutton lovers for its bony meat. Most people enjoy goat head instead of meat for the texture and flavour of the curry. When cooked with spices and pressure cooked for 30 minutes sometimes they do not cook, Check the piece and then add water as per the availability in gravy and cook further. Usually, a goat head needs to be burned and then cleaned properly. If we are cooking a small head they cook easily.

Ingredients

Goat Head – 1 kg

Tomatoes pieces – 1 bowl(2 big size)

Onion Pieces – 1 bowl (2bib size)

Garam masala – 1/4 tbsp

Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp

Turmeric powder – 1/4 tbsp

Salt to taste

Green chills – 3 numbers

Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp

Coriander powder – 1 tbsp

Black pepper grains powder – 1/2 tbsp

Oil – 4 tbsp

Water – 2 glass( 500 ml)

Kasuri methi – few leaves

For the Curry paste

Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup

Dried coconut piece 1/4 cup

10 Cashew nuts or Almonds

How to make Goat head

Wash the goat head meat a couple of times in running water. Heat oil in a Pressure cooker and add chopped onions. onions fry to brown colour Add ginger garlic paste for 1-minute to fry. Add chopped tomatoes. And saute until soft. Add goat head meat and 10 minutes fry. Add salt, red chilli, turmeric powder, green chilli and coriander powder and mix well. Close the pressure cooker lid and 4 vices.

In a mixer grinder add dry coconut, coriander leaves, and Cashew nuts grind to paste.

After the air pressure. Open the lid. On the stove Add curry paste, garam masala, and Kasuri methi and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes. Serve Roti.
