French Fries

French fries are a yummy snack popular all over the world, kid’s most favourite finger food, goes well with mayonnaise, and ketchup. It is made with striped potatoes fried in oil and completely cooled down and again fried in the hot oil. French fries are generally deep-fried in oil if you wish you can bake them, it is healthier than frying.

If you don’t want to fry two times, you can cook it in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, dry it completely and fry it till golden brown, It is also tasty and stays crispy for a long time. Another point for making crispy French fries is not to use fresh potatoes, the water content will be high in it, and the older it gets, the crispier it becomes.

Ingredients

  • Large Potatoes – 2
  • Oil – for frying
  • Salt as needed

Method

1. Wash and peel potatoes.

2. Cut the top and bottom of the potatoes.

3. Cut it into ¼-inch thick slices.

4. Cut it into stripes.

5. Soak it in the cold water for at least 2 hours.

6. Once done, drain water.

7. Dry it in a kitchen towel.

8. Now fry it in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.

9. Do not make it a brown colour.

10. Drain it in a paper towel, and cool it completely.

11. Now fry it on medium-high flame.

12. Cook till golden colour.

13. Sprinkle some salt, serve hot.
