Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

• Tomatoes (chopped) – 8 number

• Garlic (chopped) – 10 clove

• Green chillies (chopped) – 10 numbers.

• Hing – pinch

• Cumin seeds – 1/2 tea spoon.

• Curry leaves for flavour – 6 leaves.

• Ginger (chopped) – 1 teaspoon.

• Urad dal – 1 teaspoon

• Tamarind (lemon size preferred) – to taste.

• Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon

• Red chillies – 4 number.

• Oil – as required.

• Salt – to taste.

• Mint (optional) – 1 bunch.

• Grated coconut or fried ground (optional) – 1/2 cup.

Method:

Heat the oil in a pan. Add red chillies, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, and garlic. Add green chillies, tamarind pulp, cashews, curry leaves, hing and tomatoes. Add salt and cook well. Add mint leaves, grated coconut and cook for some time.

Now blend the entire mixture to a coarse powder and season it with tempering.

Spicy chutney is ready to serve. Serve it Rice, chapati, and Dosa.
