Rasam Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon oil
  • 7 to 8 fenugreek seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons coriander seeds
  • 6 dry red chillies
  • 1 teaspoon grated coconut (optional)
  • A few curry leaves (optional)
  • Pinch of asafoetida

Instructions

Rasam powder Ingredients
  1. Heat the oil in a pan.
  2. Add fenugreek seeds. Fry until they turn golden.
  3. Turn the fire to very low. Add cumin seeds and coriander seeds. Fry for 15 seconds.
  4. Add dry red chilies and optional grated coconut and curry leaves.
  5. Throw in a pinch of asafoetida. Mix well.
  6. Remove the pan from the fire and set aside to cool.

Grind to a smooth powder.
